BNSF Railway has a deep and vital connection to our nation’s agriculture industry, and maintaining that bond depends heavily on the hard work of our ombudsmen. These team members serve as a bridge between the railway, customers, producers, and shippers. Every day, they collaborate with agricultural partners to solve problems and overcome challenges that could impact a successful harvest.
One of these ombudsmen is Mike McKay, who works directly with agriculture producers in Montana and Wyoming. A Montana resident for 58 years, Mike has over 20 years of experience in the rail industry. With his strong ties to the region and deep knowledge of rail operations, he’s the perfect person to help agriculture partners navigate complex market issues and operational challenges.
Recently, Mike sat down with the Northern Ag Network to discuss his role at BNSF. He shared his passion for the region and the relationships that keep him excited to come to work every day.
