As of the start of January, BNSF’s collaboration with Montana Rail Link (MRL) has now become the MRL Subdivision of BNSF’s Montana Division. This marks a new chapter in the longstanding partnership, which can now focus on stronger outcomes for customers, employees, and communities across Montana, Idaho, and Washington.
The move aims to enhance capacity and improve service to meet evolving logistics expectations. BNSF President and CEO Katie Farmer expressed excitement about carrying forward MRL’s strong reputation for safety and service and envisions great potential for freight growth in the region.
The integration allows BNSF to collaborate on innovations and advanced technologies with MRL’s skilled and dedicated team members. The move is expected to strengthen BNSF’s service so it can accommodate the unique supply chain needs of each customer in the Big Sky state.
