More than 100 years ago, the Kusumoto family homesteaded along the Whitefish River in Montana. Today, that history lives on through a new community space: Ted Kusumoto Park. In partnership with the City of Whitefish, BNSF expanded an existing recreational lease so the city could include additional BNSF-owned land to create the park. This new space—named in honor of Ted Kusumoto, a Whitefish native and World War II Silver Star recipient—provides visitors a peaceful place to picnic and access the river.
We look forward to seeing the community enjoy the park for years to come!
